John Hayes talks to Radio 4 about his new role advising the PM

Tory MP John Hayes, David Cameron's new parliamentary adviser, explains to Radio 4's Carolyn Quinn that his appointment is a sign that the PM is determined to reconnect with all of his party members. He insists that the PM is doing an excellent job and on schools, welfare and apprenticeships the Coalition is more radical than it gets the credit for.

According to The Guardian's Nick Watt members of David Cameron's team have been briefing against John Hayes.
