Farage was in fine form last night (viz, the Tories split the UKIP vote). Even more importantly, UKIP sensibly chose not to field him but instead to pick an engaging intelligent charismatic female candidate. He can stand in front of a camera and sound like a normal person. He answer questions and he sounds like someone who understands ordinary people; relates to their concerns and is prepared to try and do something about it.
