Clegg above looks a tired and weary man?

If they hold the balance of power they will back Labour. All the weazle words and half truths are just to hoodwink Conservative voters to vote for them.

Typical LibDem performance: all things to all men.
This man on Marrs is talking confused nonsense.
No so much 'new politics' as 'old bollox'.

Clegg looked very uncomfortable as his bluff has now been called. It is no longer a nice hypothetical situation to be discussed over a meal with like-minded friends but a strong possibilty that he may be called upon to deal with for real. He dipped and dived when he was being interogated on the Marr programme and looked as if he had been caught out.
I also watched Brown addressing a meeting in West London, I assume of Labour Supporters. He had a terrible wardrobe malfunction in that he was wearing a formal dark suit and white shirt but was nor wearing a tie. He looked scruffy and unkempt. If he wanted to be informal he ought not to have worn the jacket and have had a coloured short sleeved shirt on instead.
In contrast David Cameron is speaking in West Yorkshire about Education. He is smart-casually dressed as befits the location, a public park by the look of things. Cameron looks calmly confident, Brown looked very ill at ease.

I saw some of this interview, where Marr gave him a easy ride. The more confident Clegg becomes the more he is transforming into Tony Blair. He cannot answer any question and just spouts platitudes. If only we had an honest and sincere leader, the election would be in the bag.

When i heard he wants to allow 2 million people come to Britain, get rid of our defences i just thought what is British about this guy?
Moreover, when i heard Refugee Action a leading charity for people needing help, have openly said how alarmed they are about his views which will undermine legitimate asylum and migration issues.
To me, the Lib Dem policies are really generalist and completely undermine the decent majority, let alone the people who need help. I just find everything he said today to be completely out of touch with reality.
I also thought Marr was far too soft on him.

Just a few insights above: "All things to all men", "weazle words", "spouts platitudes". Mmm, sounds just like DC to me!!
The problem for the Tories is that your man can't hit back because he embodies EXACTLY the same political approach & empty politics that they accuse Clegg of representing...it's just that he's a better debater, presenter and tribune of the stuff than Cameron.
NB: interesting how DC is now going soft on electoral reform - what a man of substance& principles, eh???????

I was amused by the way when after Clegg had stated that it was the number of VOTES which counted regarding whether he would ally with Labour and NOT the number of SEATS gained, (which is the way our electoral system actually works in the real world), and Marr asked him to confirm that this was the criterion on which he would make his decision, Clegg immediately tried to wriggle out of it with a load of cr@p about "You are confusing two things...." Not at all Nick, you had made a clear statement that it was the number of VOTES gained and not the SEATS won which will tip your hand, as far as your Party's "Southport Convention" will permit you to make that decision as their Leader. You said it, it's now a matter of public record, you are stuck with it!

This is about Clegg and his policy on immigrants,DC is nothing to do with this vote losing idea.
Clegg is saying this amnesty has to happen to 'get them out of the shadows'. He then went on to say what criteria they have to meet to be successful...
Clegg said the immigrants already here have to prove
they have been here ten years, speak English, have not broken the law and want to pay taxes.
Clegg says they are ruled by gangs and criminals.
Will these gangs & criminals let them step out of the shadows?
will they convince them this is a trick?
If they can not speak English, yet meet all other criteria, who is going to tell them to come into the open?
Clegg says they will be able to bring one family member and all they are getting is a two year work permit so they can work here legally before their final status is.....interupted by Marr at this point....I would presume Clegg meant until their status is sorted out.
If Clegg reckons in the middle of the worst recession...do not be fooled it's fixed...it isn't!.
..he can somehow get work for however many illegal immigrants there are in Britain, and does not expect uproar from the British workers...he needs treatment immediately.
Clegg also mentions Community Service. Will this be alongside the convicted criminals who, under a grown up government, would be in jail?
Are there enough 'communities'in Britain to cater for convicts and illegal immigrants?
Do 'communities' really want convicted criminals, who should be in prison, roaming around their communities in the first place let alone illegal immigrants on top?

How do they prove they have been here for 10 years? Isn't this work permit for 2 years a new pledge? What happens if they are in the wrong area under the Cleggite Manifesto? How will they be relocated to the correct Bantustan?
