I can understand why a Frenchman would have difficulty with this sentence. Big deal. The French should just keep to Quebec and run it themselves, all this bilingual nonsense is stupid. Meanwhile Canada should be incorporated into the US. It should be called the Union of North America and the Queen should be joint-head of state along with the US President. I think this idea would be popular with everybody.

I think gloating about this is pretty juvenile. It's abundantly clear it's a language barrier and nothing to do with the substance of the issues.

Canada has been a bilingual country for centuries. If an aspiring PM can't understand how to talk in both these languages (and the language he supposedly can't understand is the most widely spoken in the world) then he's not fit to be PM!
