Noone might vote for yellow but the Auf Wiedersehen Pet stars discover that under complicated voting systems you can end up with something that nobody really wanted. I'm grateful to Andrew Bingham MP for the tip-off.
Formerly a Conservative who defected to Labour under Tony Blair, B’Stard is seen in the film saying anything to get elected. The film is based sometime in the future when, as the leader of his own party standing under a multi-coloured political banner, B’Stard is taking advantage of the new AV electoral system to secure office.
NO to AV Campaign Director, Matthew Elliott observes:
“This kind of shoddy behaviour is exactly the kind of thing we might see under AV. We would have politicians doing backroom deals and not delivering on their promises just so they could cling to power. This is why we should protect our democracy and keep One Person, One Vote.”
