A futile step as well given how trivial most filters are to circumvent - as in you can obtain software that bypasses these measures for free on the covers of computer magazines sold in major supermarkets and news agents.

most children have more internet knowledge than their parents, they sit quietly while their parents lock down the machine and then they access the sites anyway.
