After all the criticisms of the police after the protest marches, they - and the security forces - deserve tremendous praise for preserving the peace at the Royal Wedding. It was, just for one day, Britain at ease with itself.
Let us strive to continue the harmony and joy engendered by the day, though I expect it will be shattered by the last few days of debate on AV.
Yes those photos are really nice and it is lovely to feel the happy mood that this wedding has engendered in most people except a few anal retentive republicans and lefties, Peter Hain, and of course wannabe Mayor (again) Ken The Newt. Will it last? Well there are elections etc next week and they always cause disharmony I'm afraid.
