I'd never really listened properly to the present "countdown"- being in too much of a hurry to listen to the first headline - and I never realised how good it was as a piece of music in its own right!!

Where's the early one with the title revolving round the Alexandra Palace TV transmitter aerial?

In my childhood near Ally Pally, I was filled with wonder that, of all the places in the world to choose from, BBC News selected the tall tower on our local landmark for the News opening sequence.

My comprehension & perception has shown no signs of improvement in the intervening half century or so!
