Desperately sorry for the families - we shouldn't be there. I am appalled by the ever more strident voice of Liam Fox on this policy. Get out now of the medieval corrupt stinking sand heap. Who cares? Let them kill each other. Leave them to their medieval habits. The civilised Western world can put up with a little of their pathetic terrorism.

Martin Marprelate- A Man in the Street!

This proves to me what an unwinnable war this is. The Afghans HATE us and it is no surprise to me that they should let us train up their insurgents to then turn the weapons we have given them upon our soldiers. Let us face the facts, this could become the UK's Vietnam. Get our troops out ASAP and leave the Afghans to sort themselves out. We have long ceased to be a World Imperial Power so get out and stay out!

Our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan has been a national tragedy of outrageous proportions. British servicemen are getting killed and crippled in a war WHICH IS NOT IN OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS.

There is no such thing as a 'War on Terror'. Al Qaeda does NOT exist as a credible threat. We cannot deal with the threat of Islamic terrorism by invading every country in which they may be organising. The logic of that approach would require us to invade Somalia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan and dozens of other countries.

The way to protect ourselves from terrorism is through secure borders and good intelligence. All we are doing is generating greater hostility against us.
