The police did what they should have done, under the circumstances. The man became loud and obstreperous, according to the police - which is what triggered his arrest. He, apparently, also accused the police of racism, for demanding to see some proof of identity.
This would have all gone away had Obama not made his idiotic comments about how the police treated his personal friend (and I believe that that's the crux of the matter).
What would Obama have had to say, if they had been burglars and the police had been satisfied with being told "I'm the owner" and not demanded proof?
