Give it a rest William. We are all heartily sick of military adventures in the greater Middle East and the costs of conducting them. Please look after British interests and the British purse. I for one could not give a stuff what happens to Syria or the Syrians. We shall suffer less collateral fallout if we are not identified with any side to this. Butt out Britain and look after your own affairs. God knows they need enough attention!

Mossad vs Assad? 'CIA death squads behind Syria bloodbath'
Moscow has accused the west of stirring up tensions in the Arab world by calling for the overthrow of the Syrian regime. Russia says calls from certain states for the Syrian opposition to avoid dialogue with the government, are only provoking further violence. Author and journalist Webster Tarpley, who's in Damascus, says, it's very simple, western powers are behind the violence in Syria.

In effect, Hague arming islamists who, if given a chance, will bring in a regime far more repressive than the Bashir one. Just look at the terror they have already wreaked locally upon Christian residents of Homs and other places, for example.
Well, I obviously don't have access to UK government and security documents, so cannot have the full picture. Nonetheless, I look at what has happened, and is happening in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt (and the Lebanon), and it gives me scant hope of true democracy in these countries.

It's got nothing to do with us. The likely outcome of regime change is some anti western koran spouting lunatics will take over.Stay out.

What on earth is this silly man up to now? I believe he is giving the Syrian opposition party £500 million of OUR money.
Perhaps he hopes this will take our minds off the other recent government disasters. Sorry it won`t work.
Stop interfering in other countries` affairs unless our interests are directly affected.

We are about to hold the Olympic Games 2012 and this man wants to commit this country to yet another Military engagement. This is beyond madness.
Is it that the UK is also a target for an Arab Spring because this could well make this country totally bankrupt?
Also, William Hague is already mentioned on at least list for war crimes;

If there was ever a reason for NOT voting Conservative at the next election, this is surely it!
Sadly though Britain has a long term habit of giving succor to revolutionaries - we provided sanctuary for both Karl Marx and Peter Kropotkin - and look where that got us!

... but have complete amnesia about the despotic regime in Bahrain oppressing, arresting and killing its citizens. Vague's consistency in foreign policy is about the same as his tales of drinking.

I'd be wary using a known liar like Mr Tarpley to back up your arguments Malcolm.

Be careful of what you wish for. Just look at the growth of islamofascism in the countries of the so-called 'Arab Spring'.

Thats our money you are giving them.
What's more you should examine the unforseen consequences of what you are doing much more carefully. Mind our own business.
It is not your money or your blood.
