I don't think Livingstone is capable of stopping lying. Dishonesty is hard-wired into him. Lying is what he does...It's what Labour do.

Is anyone old enough to remember the episode on That Was the Week that Was, ages ago, when the show got into trouble for their comments about that eminently forgettable snake-oil salesman, Harold Wilson? The subject was: how can you tell when Wilson is telling the truth, and when he is lying? The panel decided that when he played with his ears he was telling the truth, and when he fiddled with his pipe, well, he was telling the truth then, too. It was only when he opened his mouth that he was lying.
