Andrew Lansley orders expert inquiry into safety of breast implants

The Health Secretary has restated his view there is no evidence that the French breast implants are unsafe but he is setting up an expert panel to investigate new data. Further to my tweet last week I do wonder if it would be more reassuring for a clinician to make announcements of this kind. Some patients, particularly on the Left, will wonder if Andrew Lansley is taking these decisions with budgets in mind.
