Would that the cosy little cabal running the Conservative party had Hannan's intellectual capability and could offer just such a rigorous analysis.
But, no, they're more intent on sidling into power, all the while saying as little as possible.

Why is he stood in an alcove?????

Magnificent. Shame about the joke at the end but what a speech. Good news for Britain over the next thirty years. Add in Boris, Graham Brady, Philip Davies and you're making progress.

Tandy - he was standing on a step, so as better to address his audience. Granted, it's not quite a stage or a platform, but it was the nearest thing to it at the D'Fly Bar.

Very good that he has continued to communicate "The Plan".

It was a very very small bar. And an incredible speech. We went to the Freedom thing just for a drink really and had no idea Dan Hannan would be speaking. Talk about good fortune! What a brilliant piece of luck.

We'd only advertised Roger Helmer MEP (who also made an excellent speech, just after Dan) to speak at this event and Dan was a bonus, confirmed only the day before, so I think most people had a very pleasant surprise when he showed up!

Pleasant surprise is an understatement, Simon. We couldn't believe our luck!
