I feel sad that Clegg, despite all his claims that his Lib-Dem party joined the coalition government "For the good of the nation", pomptly and opportunistically abandons this whenever local party politics or interests are concerned.
Clegg would probably have preferred to form a Lab-Lib coalition, indeed this was his first attempt, but, in Cameron he probably saw a weaker and more compliant potential partner, and now feels himself able to exploit this, not for the benefit of the nation, nor even for the benefit of his own party (for which he looks like being a disaster) but for the personal ego and advancement of a certain ex-euro MP, now British Deputy PM, called Nick Clegg.
