I have criticised David Cameron at times, but credit where it's due. His attack on the Prime Minister in the Commons today was world-class.
Keep up the good work David, Gordon's on the run!

Presumably the 2 main party leaders and many MPs generally also had their bank and NI details on those disks too.
There needs to be far stricter monitoring of what Civil Servants dealing with such confidential information on such a scale get up to.
Maybe the Intelligence Services should monitor activity in Treasury Departments including bugging offices, given the serious consequences of mistakes with such information there needs to be a move away from personal taxation to minimise need for use of such data by government and making offences under the Official Secrets Act, Data Protection Act where related to public use of confidential information and the Terrorism Act all subject to mandatory Capital Punishment with unlimited powers to detain suspects and fire or suspend those suspected of negligence.
