Given his wealth and ability to earn much more elsewhere he is probably doing the job more for honour(s) than cash.

The Labour Party forced the issue by threatening a House of Commons debate and vote.
This is not the end as he will no doubt resign his post and go elsewhere.

Just proves that Labour cannot be trusted by big business as it would appear that any contract or legally binding document they sign with the Labour party isn't worth the paper it's written on.
