Let us hope this proves successful and that the momentum can be maintained. The sooner our commitment to Afghanistan can be liquidated the better it will be, both for them and for us. Our troops there have for too long `making bricks without straw` - or barely enough anyway. This was never more than an operation to support the Bush quest for revenge after the 9/11 event and the only person who has got off scott free has been Blair, who took us in then walked away and left others to clean up the mess.

Glad your lads are out! As to the future of that area. Taliban control in what, 6 to 8 months?
