Yesterday we published the first part of No2AV's referendum broadcast. This video includes that part and also parts II and III:
- Part I: AV as a Political Fix – including the return of Rik Mayall as Alan B’Stard
- Part II: The Unfairness of AV – illustrated by a horse race with an unusual conclusion
- Part III: The Complexity of AV – as explained by a school teacher and real-life students.
The broadcast will be shown on BBC1 at 6.55pm today, on ITV1 at 6.50pm, on Channel 4 at 7.55pm and Channel 5 at 7.25pm.

Personally I would have gone with exposing the myth that AV always elects candidates with fifty percent of the vote, alas they went with a very muddled message.

@Mark M
STV in single-member constituencies is identical to AV. If you used STV at uni then you'll also have used AV at uni.

"And who uses STV? Ireland.
Well, that's really worked out well for them, hasn't it?"
Well, they just overwhelmingly kicked out a deeply unpopular government using STV while we've only replaced one party with a government of another party about 4 times in the past century. Forgive me if I fail to see your point.

But it's not a myth. AV always elects the candidate with 50%+ of the vote in the final round.

This has to rank as one of the best, most effective political adverts ever. I wholly disagree with the message, but they have conveyed it brilliantly. This could singlehandedly swing the referendum unless the Yes2AV camp come up with something as simple and as effective very quickly.
