The idea of 'irresponsible' strikes is of lesser importance than the exchange that took place towards the end of the inteview. The person on Len's left made this observation. He pointed out that by supporting the student action against higher university fees he was supporting an action that would see the students education being paid for out of the taxes extraced from his members. Therefore, he is following a political ideology at the expense of his own members wellfare.
